Pantry Needs

Pantry Staples 



Dried legumes – bortolli beans, blackeye beans, red kidney beans, cannellini beans, adzuki beans, chickpeas, red lentils, green/brown lentils, yellow split peas

Organic tempeh

Dried fruits

Figs, prunes, apricots, dates, medjool dates, sultanas, raisins, dried cherries


Nuts and seeds

Raw – almonds, hazelnuts, cashew nuts, pecans, pine nuts, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, chia seeds, linseeds

Soak in water overnight to release gases and aid digestion

Dairy alternatives

Almond milk, coconut milk, coconut yoghurt, coconut ice cream.

Grains, pastas, breads and flours

Quinoa, oats, brown rice, millet, buckwheat, kamut flour, oat flour, shredded coconut, gluten free bread


Most of a healthy plant based diet will consist of an abundance of fruits and vegetables

Bananas, strawberries, apples, apricots, grapes, kiwi fruit, mangoes, peaches, passionfruit, mandarins, lemons, limes, grapefruit, pears, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, mango, papaya, paw paw, pineapple, avocados, figs, plums, nectarines, watermelon, pomegranates, organic frozen berries

Peel and freeze bananas in zip lock bags to use in smoothies and to make banana ice cream

Always buy organic frozen berries to ensure they are pesticide free


Kale, spinach, broccoli, brussel sprouts, cucumber, carrots, sugar snaps, sweet potatoes, corn, tomatoes, bok choy, cabbage, cauliflour, basil, parsley, coriander, celery, capsicum, spring onions, onions, garlic, ginger, swedes, watercress, pumpkin, zucchinis, daikon, leeks

Sea vegetables

Nori, kombu, wakame, hiziki, dulse

Mixing bowls, vegetable peeler, non-toxic non-stick frypans and saucepans, colander, standard and microplane graters, baking trays, cake tins, spring form cake tins, muffin tins, paint scraper (for baking cookies), good quality knife set, chopping board, kitchen scales, measuring spoons, baking paper, cling film

    Great blog! Do you have any hints for aspiring writers?

    I’m planning to start my own site soon but I’m a little lost on everything.
    Would you suggest starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a
    paid option? There are so many choices out there that I’m completely confused ..
